How
To "Accurately" Measure Your Dick
for our smallDICK
dickSIZE Survey
Meet
Our Model
This
is our model, Dick. He is a realistic, Doc Johnson, Executive 5"
Cock. He's an average dick at approximately 5" in length and
approximately 5" in circumference.
Now,
see how we arrived at those measurements ...
A
Word About Accuracy
We
put the word "accuractely" in quotes, because it is practically
impossible to measure any dick's dimensions with true accuracy.
Because we'll all interpret measurement readings a little differently
and will round up or down our measurements to the nearest quarter
of an inch, there will be lots of slight variations and errors in
our resulting statistics. However, all we can hope is that each
of you will attempt to report your dimensions as accurately as
possible. If we all strive to do that, over time, the slight
variations and errors will become less significant. Therefore, please
take a moment to read through the following measurement guidelines,
so that we all report from the same understanding of how to "accurately"
measure dick dimensions for the purpose of this survey. Thanks in
advance for your consideration of the integrity of our survey and
for the consideration of others who make a legitimate effort to
report their dick dimensions as accurately as possible.
What
You Will Need
The
first thing you will need is some means of measuring your dick.
Either a regular ruler or some type of measuring tape
works well. A flexible, cloth or plastic measuring tape such as
those used by tailors is ideal. Those can be purchased inexpensively
at many variety stores and fabric shops if you don't already have
one. Because the survey has been created with the Imperial
measurement system in mind, your measuring device of choice should
measure in inches. You can make your measurements in centimeters
using the Metric system, but you'll need to convert your
measurements from centimeters into inches before completing the
survey. Our own dickSTICK
will help with any necessary conversions from inches to centimeters
or vice versa.

Measuring
Your Dick's Hard Length
The
picture to your right shows our model having his dick's hard length
measured using a flexible, measuring tape. You can click on the
image to view a larger version from a different perspective.
Here
is what you should keep in mind when measuring your dick's hard
length:
- You
must be fully hard (erect).
- You
must measure along the top of your dick.
- The
measuring tape's end must rest at the point where your dick joins
your body.
- The
measuring tape's end must not be forcibly pushed "into"
the body.
- View
the measurement reading from directly above.
- Round
the measurement reading either up or down to the nearest 0.25
(quarter) of an inch.
Measuring
Your Dick's Soft Length
The
process of measuring your dick's soft length is practically identical
to measuring your dick's hard length, except for the obvious fact
that you will be soft (unerect). However, measuring your soft dick's
length brings up some issues to consider.
Some
guys' dicks shrink to almost nothing when they are nervous or chilly,
yet hang significantly longer when fully relaxed, hot, or somewhat
aroused. Getting an "accurate" soft dick measurement is
probably the most difficult of any of these measurements.
As
a general guideline, you will have to judge what you consider to
be your usual soft dick length measurement. If your soft
dick is always pretty much the same length, then your task is relatively
easy. However, if you are like many guys, who's soft dick length
changes from one moment to the next depending on stress levels,
temperature changes, activities, and a host of other circumstances,
then you will have to make an educated guess or estimate as to what
is your usual soft dick length measurement.
Here
is what you should keep in mind when measuring your dick's soft
length:
- Follow
the basic guidelines for measuring your dick's hard length to
measure your dick's soft length.
- You
must not be at all aroused or semi-hard (semi-erect).
- You
must be relaxed and comfortable.
- Do
not take your measurement after you've just hopped out of a hot
shower or returned from a dip in a cold lake. These are likely
to be extremes states, not your usual state.
- If
you sometimes "shrink" and at other times "hang",
then try to determine what you preceive to be your most usual
state -- NOT YOUR DESIRED STATE.
- If
you're really not sure what your most usual state is (shrunk,
hanging, or somewhere in between) then choose a measurement somewhere
between what is your typical shortest soft state and your typical
longest soft state.

Measuring
Your Dick's Hard Circumference (Thickness)
For
the purposes of our survey, we require that you report your dick's
hard thickness as a measurement of circumference. Circumference
is defined as the perimeter of a circle. It would be inaccurate
to report your dick's thickness as a measurement of diameter
as many guys' dicks are not evenly thick all the way around. Some
are wider across the top than they are from top to bottom. Therefore,
circumference, the measurement around the entire outer perimeter
the dick, is the best standard for our purposes.
Circumference
is most easily measured using a flexible, measuring tape. However,
if you don't have access to a flexible measuring tape, you can still
measure your dick's circumference. All you need to do is take a
standard sheet of printer paper, cut from the long side approximately
a 1" strip. Then use the strip as you would a flexible measuring
tape, except instead of reading the measurement, you'll need to
place a mark on the strip of paper with a pencil or pen at the point
of the "reading". Then you can lay the strip of paper
beside your non-flexible measuring device to determine your dick's
circumference.
Here
is what you should keep in mind when measuring your dick's hard
circumference:
- You must
be fully hard (erect).
- You must
measure the most commonly thick portion of your dick's shaft.
If your dick is extremely thick in only one area, but generally
thinner along most of its length, then use a point of measurement
that reflects the most common thickness of the shaft.
- Do not measure
a "mushroom-like" dick head (a dick head larger than
the shaft) and report it as the overall thickness of your dick.
You must measure the shaft of your dick.
- The measureing
tape (or paper strip) must be slightly snug, but definately not
too tight or too loose.
- Round the
measurement reading either up or down to the nearest 0.25 (quarter)
of an inch.
Thanks
for being as "accurate" as possible!
